Choosing A Good Gamer PC Based On Specs

By Shirley Campbell

PC gaming has become such a huge thing these days especially with most of the console games now available for desktops and laptops. Of course, if one wants to do gaming in his or her computer, then he or she needs to build a good gamer pc first. For those interested in doing that, here are a few steps and some tips on how to build up a great gaming computer based on specs.

Now, the very first thing to do is to make sure that the CPU is compatible with the game. For most of the games, a dual core processor will already suffice but higher games might need something higher than that. To be sure, check the requirements of the game to be downloaded and modify based on that.

After that, one has to then determine the definition requirements of the game. In order to play a game in full high definition, most processors have to be a least 2.5Ghz in the processor. Another way to determine this would be through checking whether the processor is an i5 or an i7 because i5 processors are the bare minimum for games while an i7 is the best type of processor for games.

Now, the graphic card is a very important thing to think about since it is the graphic card that will determine the quality of the game. Before thinking about the graphic card though, one has to make sure that the motherboard can take in the correct graphic cards. At the very least, the motherboard must have a correct SLI slot for the NVIDIA cards or a Crossfire slot for AMD Crossfire cards so that the computer can run dual graphic cards.

With regard to the graphic cards, you need to get the ones that support the display settings. Good graphic cards would have memories of around 2GB and 4GB to play up to 60 frames per second. If you can, get a video card that can take up to 90 frames per second. This would help prevent lagging or slow running.

Next on the list is the RAM, which has to be compatible with the motherboard. The best motherboards for games would have a RAM of either DDR3 or DDR4. As for the amount of memory, either 16GB or 32GB will do but this will depend on the size of the game which is why 32GB is the most recommended.

The last thing to take note of would be the hard drive. The most common type of hard drive would be the HDD which should be 7200RPM and have a cached memory of 16MB in order to take games. As for the storage size, one would want to get a size of up to 500GB for high graphics games but 250GB will suffice for lower graphics games.

Now, those are some of the most basic things that one must have in order to have a good gaming computer. Other stuff can come later such as a gaming mouse, keyboard, joystick, power supply, high def monitor, and other things. As long as the basic things are gotten, then the computer is good to go.
